KAERUS prepares for its next chapter with Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses

Growing an advisory firm brings responsibilities towards the businesses that place their trust in it.

Our ambition is to broaden the support we provide while preserving our understanding of your business, the quality of our dialogue and the independence of our professional judgement.

The selection of Rabah Lamraoui, who leads KAERUS, for cohort 12 of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programme, delivered in partnership with ESSEC Executive Education, marks a new milestone in a process already under way.

We would like to share why we are taking part, what the programme brings and how it can benefit the firm, our teams and the businesses we advise.

With ESSEC – Taking a closer look at the decisions that shape the firm’s future

Advising entrepreneurs requires an understanding of the constraints they face.

Leading a business means dealing with those constraints every day.

Recruiting, investing, organising work and deciding on the pace of growth all involve trade-offs whose implications extend beyond financial considerations alone.

For our firm’s leader, setting aside time to examine these questions means applying to KAERUS the same rigour we bring to our advisory work.

The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programme supports leaders of micro, small and medium-sized businesses in developing their growth plans.
Admission is based on eligibility criteria, an application review and a panel interview. Fully funded by the Goldman Sachs Foundation, the programme combines academic teaching, workshops with fellow entrepreneurs and personalised coaching.

The opening sessions focused on strategy, preserving cash and financial independence, and leadership built on trust.
They also explored how to align marketing with business objectives and the value people bring in the age of generative artificial intelligence.

Discussions with faculty, experts and fellow participants provide an opportunity to assess KAERUS’s strategic direction in the light of different experiences. They create space to question an assumption, weigh the implications of a decision or discover another way of approaching a challenge.

These perspectives help the firm test its chosen approach and assess what it will take to succeed.

At KAERUS – Structuring the firm’s development and sharing its direction

KAERUS has identified the changes reshaping its profession and has already launched several initiatives in response.

Artificial intelligence, electronic invoicing and automation are opening up new possibilities for processing information and putting it to use.
They also prompt us to clarify the role of analysis and dialogue with business leaders.

Developing new tools is part of this evolution, helping us improve our working methods and the way we manage client work.

Alongside this, we are introducing new communication formats to complement our regular meetings. These allow us to share useful insights and stay in touch between conversations.

Expanding our services, meanwhile, reflects the diverse needs of the businesses we work with.

The ESSEC programme provides a framework for bringing these initiatives together within an overarching vision, setting priorities and identifying the resources needed over the coming years.
It should help us organise their implementation in line with the firm’s capacity and its commitments to clients.

The lessons from the programme are also intended to be shared, discussed and adapted to the realities of the firm.

The aim is to give our teams a clear understanding of the direction we have chosen and gather their observations on potential improvements, whether in managing client work, sharing information or communicating with clients.

The programme’s full value lies in informing a collective effort and translating learning into practical changes in how the firm operates.

For our clients – Turning the firm’s development into tangible benefits for your business

The decisions you make draw on your experience, your knowledge of your industry and your vision for the future.

When you entrust us with a project, our role is to offer a perspective that takes this context into account while helping you explore the possibilities open to you.

The ESSEC programme enriches that perspective through exposure to new business experiences.

Learning how other leaders navigate a transition, sustain growth or maintain stability provides useful points of comparison. Combined with our understanding of your business, these can shed new light on a question, reveal a promising avenue or reinforce a chosen direction.

These insights are intended to inform our conversations with you, according to the matters you bring to us.

The same focus on practical value guides the firm’s initiatives.
A tool proves its worth when it makes your processes easier or frees up time for analysis.
Information is worth sharing when it helps you identify a change to prepare for.
Additional expertise has a place when it addresses a specific question facing your business.

Tangible benefits for your business are our primary measure of the firm’s progress.

Continuing to build on our experience is part of the care we bring to your projects and our long-term commitment to supporting you.
