Margins remain stable. A new hire is planned. An investment is due to be committed in the first half of the year.   <br><br>Taken as a whole, the forecast is coherent.<br><br>But what happens if growth is weaker than expected? If payment periods lengthen? If two percentage points of margin are lost, or if a hire is made several months before the increase in activity it was intended to support ?  <br><br>A budget can be perfectly well constructed and still rest on a much more fragile balance than it may appear.<br><br>The question, therefore, is not simply whether the assumptions adopted for 2027 are reasonable.<br><br><strong><em>You also need to According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.banque-france.fr\/system\/files\/2026-08\/BDF265-3_PME-ETI_web2_0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Banque de France<\/a>, revenue among SMEs excluding micro-enterprises increased by only <strong>1.5% in 2025<\/strong>, compared with an average of <strong>4.2% between 1997 and 2019<\/strong>. Identify the breaking point. <\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-bedd200\" data-block-id=\"bedd200\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">The traditional budgeting approach often involves building several scenarios : <strong>base, upside and downside.<\/strong><br><br>This method remains useful, but it can be complemented by a different question :<br><br><strong>At what level of variance does the planned decision cease to be sustainable ?<\/strong><br><br>In the financial sector, this approach is used in particular in <strong>reverse stress testing exercises<\/strong>. At the end of July 2026, the Banque de France recorded <strong>70,605 business failures over a twelve-month period<\/strong>.
